STATION APPROACH DEVELOPMENT

Members of the NRA committee met with Transport for London’s (TfL) Head of Property, Dr Onkar Sahota (our GLA member) and TfL tenants from Station Approach and Green Lane to discuss the proposed development of the TfL site .... TfL informed us that they would be signing a Heads of Agreement with a developer, Bride Hall Ltd, sometime in April. The development is for a Sainsbury supermarket, 47,000 sq ft gross, 3 car parks and 167 housing units, some of which will be affordable housing. No provision is being made for replacing the existing premises, nor will existing tenants be given compensation. Click on the heading to read more ....

Station Approach - development?

Last year it was revealed that Transport for London was considering developing their property in Northwood. Tentative plans have been drawn up to demolish the whole block from the frontage with Green Lane (from Coral Bookmakers to the alley next to Lee Garden, Chinese Takeaway) down to the car park replacing it with housing, a supermarket (possibly Sainsbury’s), a multi-storey car park and a bus station. No provision has been made for re-siting the existing shops, businesses and the car bodyshop. It is also likely that Waitrose would close if a new supermarket opened.
