Northwood Residents’ Association is seeking a Trustee to act for the Northwood Community Sports for All charity, replacing their nominated Trustee who is due to retire shortly. Trustees are expected to attend three committee meetings a year, one of which includes the AGM. The tenure is nominally for three years.
Northwood Community Sports for All was formed as a registered charity 10 years ago to promote sport in the local community through use of the Jubilee Sports Field located between the Northwood Cricket Club ground and the Riverside Health and Racquets Club, Northwood. Since 2006 the Field has been used regularly used by organised groups from Holy Trinity School and Holy Trinity Church youth groups. It is available to hire by others. Maintenance, day-to-day management and lettings are carried out by the School and Church.
The Charity is managed by The Trustees who are accountable to the Charity Commission and Fields in Trust who granted the charity a 999 year lease in 2004. Three Foundation Trustees are nominated by Northwood Residents’ Association, Holy Trinity C of E School and Holy Trinity Church, Northwood respectively and other Trustees are elected. Northwood Residents’ Association also supports the charity by providing specialist support, such as legal advice and support in developing formal documents.
A Trustee of this Charity would have an ability to work in committees with other Trustees and organisations as well as independently where required. They would be likely to have a passion for promoting sport particularly for school-aged children and would relish the opportunity to make a difference within our community. No remuneration is paid.
