Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and turned out for the NRA Outdoor Carol Event on Thursday 11th December in Oaklands Gate, and special thanks go to St Martin’s School for having the only choir that chose to shun the warmth of the church to sing outside.
The evening started with Nick Hurd MP declaring the Methodist Church Christmas Tree Festival open and turned on the tree lights. This was followed by performances from Frithwood, Eastbury, St Martins’s and Holy Trinity school choirs. Outside there were stalls selling goodies and inviting passersby to ‘Hook-a-Duck’ or ‘Guess Where the Treasure is Buried’. In the library, Santa Claus read stories to the children.
