NRA held its annual reception for road stewards on 28th April at St Matthew’s church hall. The reception is the Association’s way of saying “thank you” to the road stewards who collect subscriptions and deliver newsletters during the year, and without whom the Association could not exist.
It was a good opportunity for road stewards and their guests to chat and discuss any ideas and problems with committee members whilst enjoying canapés and a glass of wine. Our database administrator was on hand to demonstrate the NRA website and show road stewards how membership reports can be produced for individual roads.
The occasion was chosen as our opportunity to present a cheque for £5,000 to 1st Northwood Scout Group, as agreed at the AGM on 6th April. This was the NRS’a contribution to 1st Northwood Scouts’ £100,000 Appeal for funds to build a new Scouting Centre in Northwood Way. NRA Chairman, Tony Ellis said, “We are delighted to support this project which will result in a much-needed new Scouting Centre for many of the young people from our community.” Group Scout Leader, Mike Bennett replied by saying that the Group appreciated the generous donation which will give a great boost to the appeal.

We always have vacancies for road stewards, so if you think you could help please get in touch with us at chiefroadsteward@northwoodresidents.co.uk
We would also like to hear from anyone who lives in an apartment block with a view to enrolling all of their residents en bloc. Some blocks already use this system which makes collecting subscriptions and delivering newsletters much more time-efficient
