Music & Picnic in the Park – HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration
Sunday 12th June 2016
Northwood Recreation Ground, Chestnut Avenue, Northwood

We did it!  The Residents’ Associations of Northwood and Northwood Hills combined forces to put on a highly successful open-air music event  in spite of an awful weather forecast. In the event we had a wonderful sunny afternoon. Taking the decision to press on with the event was not easy, but it paid off.

The music programme, arranged by Ann Purcell, was extremely good and some of our residents obviously took their picnics very seriously. The children were well entertained by Mr Marvel.

Events such as this take a tremendous amount of planning and involved the organising committee (Leo Mindel & Andrew Riley of Northwood Hills and Richard & Ros Plume, Ann Purcell, Miles Gillman and Tony Ellis of Northwood), the local Scouts stalwarts who provided both manpower and equipment and many others who turned up on the day to help erect and clear the site and act as marshals during the day. Thank you ALL for making the event so memorable.

We are very grateful to our sponsors, especially the London Borough of Hillingdon, who contributed £5000 through Ward Funds as well as Sharmans, Ross & Carter pharmacies, Darwin Wellness and Robsons.

We hope that those who came to Music & Picnic in the Park enjoyed it as much as we did.
