This year’s Remembrance Service was held at the War Memorial on Sunday 12th November. Many residents gathered together to remember and pay tribute to those who have died for their country in conflicts around the world, especially in the two World Wars. Wreaths were laid by representatives of numerous local organisations; Vice President, Valerie Mellor, laid one on behalf of Northwood Residents’ Association.
The arrangements for this year’s event were a little different, with those laying wreaths sheltered under gazebos erected in the War Memorial area, while members of the public stood opposite on the Green Lane pavement and in Maxwell Road.
Thanks to all those who helped to organise both this event and Northwood’s Poppy Appeal.
