As from December 2009, the area around the centre of Northwood town centre has been designated a conservation area. It is quite a wide area, taking in a substantial amount of land to the south of Green Lane and to the west of the railway line.
The Northwood – Frithwood conservation area was also extended at the same time, and now takes in much of Carew Road and St Helen’s School.
We now have three conservation areas in Northwood (The Glen is the third). We also have three areas of special local character: Dene Road, Copsewood Estate and Old Northwood.
