Northwood Library Official Opening

Hillingdon Mayor, Councillor Shirley Harper O’Neill, officially opened Northwood Library on Thursday 22nd October. She was accompanied by her Escort, Councillor Brian Stead and Councillor Ray Puddifoot, Leader of the Council.

Known to local residents as ‘Oaklands Gate Library’ in the past, our new-look library not only has a new title but also new, increased opening hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9.00am to 6.00pm
• Thursday: 9.00am to 7.00pm
• Saturday: 9.00am to 5.00pm

The ground floor has a much more open feel to it with a coffee bar area in front of the reception desk. The children’s area has been opened up to allow school class visits to be accommodated more comfortably.

With so much information available on our home computers many of us have got out of the habit of visiting the library, but it is well worth checking out the new Northwood Library; it has lots to offer.
