It is with great regret that I have to announce the sudden death of Malcolm Ruddock. The exact cause is still to be ascertained as there is to be a Coroner’s inquest.
Malcolm, 58, was much loved and respected by all of us who came into contact with him. He took over as the Executive Committee Member for Planning two years ago. He tackled his new role with enthusiasm and determination and soon became expert in the brief. He was always available to residents to discuss planning matters, draw up petitions where necessary and attend meetings with residents, developers and council officials. All of those who came into contact with him came to respect his impartiality, application and knowledge.
I spent many hours working with Malcolm and came to regard him as a friend as well as a colleague. We have lost a man who gave much to Northwood and he is sorely missed.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. Funeral arrangements have yet to be decided.
