On Thursday 28th May 2015, Cllr George Cooper, Mayor of Hillingdon, performed the opening ceremony at Northwood’s newly refurbished play area. He was ably helped by a crowd of youngsters who cheered as he cut the ribbon across the gate.
The play area is in Northwood Recreation Ground in Chestnut Avenue and was funded by the London Borough of Hillingdon’s Chrysalis scheme. Each year £1 million is spent on Chrysalis projects across the borough providing one-off capital funding for the improvement of Council-owned assets.
