This hospital on Pinner Road was paid for by public donations after World War I to act as a memorial to those who died, and to serve the local community.
It was financed by local residents until it was passed to the NHS in 1948. When it closed in 2008, an assurance was given by Hillingdon Primary Care Trust that the site would remain as a local resource. Now, NHS Property Services has announced that the site is surplus to requirements and should be sold.
To prevent this – and to keep the site as a Community Asset – Community Voice, Nick Hurd MP and the Residents’ Associations of Northwood, Northwood Hills, Eastcote,
Ruislip and Pinner have raised a petition to be presented to Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health at the beginning of December. The paper petition has been circulating in the community; NRA road stewards have been asking members to sign and copies are to be found in various public places.
There is now an online petition that you may sign if you have not already signed the paper one. Click here to access the online petition – do pass this information on to anyone you know who cares about the future of our Community Hospital site.
