Mayor Enters the Lions’ Den

Posted on

On Saturday 2nd April, the Northwood Lions Club ‘Saturday Market’ was delighted to receive an official visit from Hillingdon Mayor & Mayoress, Councillors George & Judith Cooper.

The Northwood Lions Club’s main fund-raising activity is the Saturday Market, known as the Lions Den – held every Saturday morning at 195 Pinner Road, Northwood (near the Iron Bridge).  This is where we raise the vast bulk of our funds, and the Market is well worth a visit.  The Lions Den, which is run by Olive Fairclough and her dedicated band of volunteers, sells a huge variety of goods, and is a very sociable experience – one visit and you’ll be hooked!  Look us up at www.northwoodlions.org.uk

Among the organisations we have supported in the past are: Paul Strickland Scanner Appeal; Children of Fire; Northwood Live at Home; Sunshine School for the Blind; Guide Dogs; CMSS; Macmillan Nurses; Alzheimer’s Society; Breast Cancer Now; ORCHYD; REACT; Local Scout Groups and many others.  We donate around £25,000 a year to our chosen charities and have done so for the past eight years.

We’re always in need of goods to sell, and we welcome membership enquiries, so if you want to know more, do look us up, or phone Robert on 07860 324395.
