The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner Service at Mount Vernon Hospital has opened up a direct phone line for patients to book an appointment if they have a minor injury such as a cut, graze, minor burn or simple broken bone.
This is in addition to the usual method through NHS 111, either online or by phone.
The number is 01923 844263, and lines are open 8am-7pm, seven days a week.
