Shuttle Bus service restricted to staff-only use

Posted on

The shuttle bus service between Mount Vernon and Hillingdon hospitals is now restricted to only Trust staff for their business travel when covering both sites.

When first introduced, the service was for staff only, but it was recognised that there was sufficient capacity to allow patients, visitors, and indeed members of the public to use the service.

However, the Trust is now seeing a much higher demand from clinicians, nurses and doctors who are working across both sites.  It is imperative that staff have the use of the shuttle bus to enable them to arrive in time for clinics and to attend to patients’ needs. With an increase in cross cover working this has become an issue, and therefore the need arose to review the service.

Different restrictions were tried: staff, patients, visitors only; staff and patients only.  Neither option worked, so it was decided that only members of staff should use the service.

There is signage at the hospitals and leaflets in the clinics and on the wards.  You can download the leaflet for travel to Mouunt Vernon Hospital here.
