It is with sadness that we report the death of former NRA Chairman and President, Alan Prue, on 5th October 2025.
Alan was a proactive member of the executive committee which he joined in 1999, becoming Chairman in 2000 whilst also representing NRA on planning matters. He held the role of Chairman until 2006. He was appointed President in 2009 and served until 2019.
Alan suffered a stroke in June 2017 which meant he was then no longer able to take an active part in NRA business.
Members will remember Alan for his tenacity when dealing with the council, especially over planning issues; he always had the local community at heart, even standing as an independent candidate for Northwood in the 2006 local elections.
Alan’s funeral will take place on Thursday 6th November at 2.15pm at Breakspear Crematorium, West Chapel. More information here
